It is the third time we invite you to support the charity action which main aim is to raise funds and purchase presents for children from one of Polish orphanages. This year we are going to help children from Ewa-Szelburg Zarebina orphanage in Lublin. Those kids really need winter boots and warm clothes.
There are as many as fifty children staying permanently under care. They are at pre-school and school age. Those children have enormous needs that is why any present would be kindly welcome, however, shoes and clothes are of the highest importance for the kids living there. Those are very basic things but they will certainly be an incredible, greatly desired surprise.
Similarly to last years, funds we raise are entirely earmarked for purchasing presents – no prime costs and unnecessary expenses.
One of undoubted assets of this charity action is the fact that each child receives a nicely wrapped, personalised gift and other things he or she needs most.
We always try our best to provide those kids with different shoes, underwear, clothes and other surprises so that the Christmas gift is exceptional and extraordinary.
Last year we sent presents to children’s home in Suprasl. Each child received new shoes, underwear and cosmetics. Presents turned out to be a wonderful surprise, children’s happiness was definitely worth our effort and your help.

Similarly to previous years every sponsor receives a star with a logo or a donor’s name and surname. We display all those stars on our webpage through the whole year. When the next charity action begins we archive the page with sponsors’ stars and move it into the second folder. However, it is still available online and linked up with the main page.
Gifts
Each of you can purchase warm clothes or shoes and give them as a present to a particular child. We have a list of all children, including their shoe and clothing sizes. That is why we would be grateful if you contact us before buying anything for a child. Please, contact Agnieszka 07955497727.
Santa Claus booth
From 1 October till Christmas you have an opportunity to buy and sell various things. There are auctions of new and second-hand articles which you can buy via the community portal www.polnews.co.ukWe warmly invite all those who have got some superfluous items, such as games, books, toys, CDs, clothes or household equipment. It is a great chance to get rid of unnecessary things and support children in need.
Attention! Profit from a sale or an auction in the Santa booth will be entirely paid into an account of our charity action.

Art Contest
We invite all children up to twelve to take part in the Winter Competition organized by restaurant ‘Gospoda’. Your task is to create a piece of art which illustrates a rhyme:
Winter is white,
Winter is nice,
Everybody plays in snow,
Winter is cold,
abundant in icicles,
Feet freeze terribly.
Feel free to be creative, we are more than happy to see all ideas. The size of your work cannot be bigger than A3.
Jurors will choose 7 best works which are going to be displayed in the exhibition in restaurant ‘Gospoda’ (Newcastle Upon Tyne). The author of the best piece of art receives a wonderful prize- a basket full of sweets founded by the Polish shop ‘Groszek’ in Newcastle. All works are going to be bid during the varnishing-day in December. The total income from the auction will be earmarked for ‘Santa Claus from Island’.

Folded or crumpled works will not be accepted!
To award all individual and commercial sponsors who support our appeal we offer the opportunity to buy one of the 3 types of Stars. Possessing a Star will remind you of having done something good for others. The most generous contributors will receive additional advertising space on the main website. The size of the advertising space will depend on the amount of money donated.
Brown Star :
Bronze Star costs only £25. It entitles you to place a 234 × 68 banner on our website.
Silver Star
Silver Star costs £50. It entitles you to place a 468 × 120 banner and a short company profile on our website.
Gold Star!
Gold Stars are reserved for those individuals and oganisations which donate at least £100 to our appeal.
Gold Star entitles you to place a large 620 × 170 banner and a company profile. Your name will also be added to our list of official supporters.
The Stars can be purchased using one of the available payment options. The quickest and most convenient method is a direct money transfer using our PayPal system (top right button).
